Job Title: ACCOUNTING CLERK
Department: Finance
Reports to: Controller
Reporting Location: 31 Larch St

Job Description: Are you ready to bring your accounting expertise to the fast-paced and exhilarating world of sports and entertainment? Join the dynamic and rapidly growing team at SWSE as an Accounting Clerk! In this position, you will be a part of SWSE’s finance team and will play a pivotal role in maintaining our company’s key financial functions such as Accounts Payables and Receivables. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review, code and process invoices from vendors (A/P) or to customers (A/R) in the G/L accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain vendor and customer files in the process.
  • Print, copy invoices and expense reports from e-mail, sort through mail and distribute to purchaser on a daily basis.
  • Maintain the flow of invoices from vendors and sales contracts to customers in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for all A/R and A/P inquiries and issues by phone or email, working alongside the other Accounting Clerk for proper action and resolution.
  • Produce weekly aging reports and provide periodic A/R collections efforts for overdue accounts and updating Controller on customer status.
  • Coordinate weekly cheque and EFT runs including but not limited to; printing account reports, verification of amounts, assemble documents, verify approvals and mail.
  • Prepare and make bank deposits regularly.
  • Request banking information for EFT payments.
  • Work alongside the other Accounting Clerk, work on providing Purchase Order (PO) numbers to Operations staff. Maintain the active PO’s and attach to invoices upon delivery.
  • Responsible for posting credit card payments, and in some cases expenses, in the G/L
  • Working with the Senior Accountant, verify and note any discrepancies with credit card reconciliations from cardholder on a monthly basis.
  • Perform certain adjusting journal entries such as prepaid expenses.
  • Maintain proper filing and backup of financial transactions.
  • Provide support to the Controller on a variety of issues and functions and other related duties.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • College Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  • Bookkeeping Accreditation considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 4 years direct working experience in accounting or related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting software. Particular knowledge in Quickbooks or Simply Accounting strongly considered an asset.
  • Ability to operate in high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines.
  • Possess solid Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Salary Range and Compensation:

  • Annual salary ranges from around $45,000 to $55,000, based on experience and qualifications.
  • 40 hours per week.
